Having a good first touch, ball control skills and passing accuracy are all things we expect players to develop on their own and bring to the team. Because of our limited-duration training sessions, we just don’t have time to spend on developing ball skills when the team is working together. Mastery of these ball skills is essential for players to earn a spot on the varsity gameday rosters, and it a determinant of playing time in both JV and varsity matches.
Below are ball skills videos to guide players in their own, self-motivated development. The only equipment players need for these videos is a soccer ball. If players don’t have cones, they can use paper plates or plastic cups. The videos are not produced by Green Mountain Soccer, and we don’t control any changes made to the videos over time. If you see any issues with any of the videos, please let Coach Matt know. And if you find other videos that should be included in this ball skills video library, Coach Matt would love to know about them.
