Preseason Training Time

We hope you’ve all enjoyed your first month of summer break, and that you are as ready as we are to get our preseason training started. Let’s see where we are, as individuals and as a team, and what we can become together.

Here are some important reminders about all preseason training.

  • Arrive Early: Arrive 10 or 15 minutes before training starts to get yourself ready. At the exact start time for training, only players with shin guards and cleats on and tied will be allowed to train. Anyone running late, even one minute late, will not be permitted to train that day. Arrive early to avoid stress for your teammates, your parents, your coaches, and especially, for you.
  • Shin guards are required for all preseason and in-season training. We even run in shin guards because we wear shin guards in games, so we want to replicate game-like situations in everything we do. This might seem like an unorthodox approach to some of you, but some of the best college programs in the country run like this.
  • Preseason in voluntary. The first required event on the 2023 fall campaign is tryouts starting Monday, August 7th. Our preseason conditioning is designed to help you excell at the fitness tests during tryouts. We will start preseason by taking those fitness tests to establish a baseline. Please do not stress about the pre-tests. We want to gauge improvement through the summer. The starting point only matters because it will give us something to be proud of when we see how much better our conditioning is at the end of summer.

Let’s get this started! Please let me know if you have any questions. It’s a great season to be a Ram!
