Do you know what those two starts mean in high school soccer? Do you realize that both the Green Mountain boys and girls soccer teams have each won two CHSAA state championships? If you didn’t know, why not?

I have been coaching soccer in Colorado for sixteen years, and until this spring, I never considered Green Mountain when I thought about the contenders.

June Soccer – Who’s Ready?

The two-time and defending 4A state champions, the Northfield Nighthawks, are hosting a fantastic 4v4+GKs small sided tournament on Friday, June 9th, in downtown Denver. This is a great opportunity for groups from within our Rams soccer program to come together and compete before our summer training starts at the end of June.

Scrimmage and Parent Meeting

We will host our first internal team scrimmage of the preseason before school ends for the summer. We chose this date because it is deep into the spring playoffs. If our Green Mountain girl’s soccer or lacrosse teams are still alive (and we hope they are!), we will play on the grass. If all three of those seasons are over, we will play on the turf. After the preseason session with the players, we will host our first parents/players meeting.

Tuesday, May 16th: Scrimmage 3:30pm, Parents/Players Meeting 5:30pm

Coach Rodrigo Gonzalez

Please welcome Rodrigo Gonzalez to the 2023 Green Mountain Boy’s Soccer coaching staff! Coach Rodrigo has years of club coaching experience with boys and girls teams at many age and competition levels. Like Coach Matt, Coach Rodrigo is geared up to emphasize defending and clean sheets. Coach Rodrigo was the boy’s JV coach last year, so he is a familiar face, and one that many of the players endorsed.
